The Magical Pacific

With over 300 kilometers of untamed beaches, Guatemala’s Pacific coast is an oasis of solitude and wild beauty. What makes it such a worthwhile visit is the sheer variety of experiences to be had. For us, it’s the simple pleasure of walking barefoot on volcanic black sand beaches, and the guaranteed wave consistency at El Paredon. For others, it’s the opportunity to whale watch, or swimming with endangered Parlama turtles. Sailfishing, something for which Guatemala is internationally renowned, also plays a prominent part in the adventure travel scene on the coast. And, of course, there are plenty of archeological sites along the coast. The choice of activities can be overwhelming, but one thing’s for sure - you’re always guaranteed a breathtaking sunrise and sunset.

Some of our other favourites include:

  • Kayak or paddleboard through the ancient mangroves in the Biotopo Monterrico
  • Witness wildlife conservation at Arcas Hawaii
  • Leatherback Turtle release at El Paredon

Did you know... you can catch amazing waves to surf year-round at El Paredón, a laid back beach location on the Pacific coast, besides the beautiful sunsets and plenty of rest.
